239th Lesson – PNG File Format – Adobe Photoshop

Dear All,

Lets begin with 239th lesson.

We are discussing about PNG format that is now popular for Website Graphics. It is used as a replacement for GIF. But one thing should be noted that PNG does not support animation like GIF.
PNG is a lossless file format.

It means they do not loss any information in the file while editing. Where as JPEG is a lossy file format. The point is when PNG is uncompressed during the viewing all information is restored from the image.

PNG has two types. PNG 8 and PNG 24 which we will discuss in the next lesson!

With regards
