Concept: The lesson is designed using Adobe Photoshop. We have used selections, different combination of image editing tools and filters for most of the effects. Photoshop comes up with lots of the options and scope for experiment is much more than you can imagine. We wish to encourage you to use different options and tools to get better output. The lessons and techniques described need to be followed as a guideline to achieve the effect.
1. Open Photoshop. Open the image saved in the last lesson where the selection is copied as new layer.

2. Select the background layer.
Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map
Click OK.

3. The gradient is based on the selection of the foreground and background colors. We had following colors selected as foreground and background.

4.Double click on layer thumbnail to open the Gradient Map dialogue box again. Check Reverse. Click OK. You get reverse gradient. The colors are interchanged. In this case the black is replaced by green and the green is replaced by black.

5. You can select different types of gradients and experiment. Double click on layer thumbnail to open the Gradient Map dialogue box again. Uncheck reverse. Select any preset gradient. Click OK.

6. We will work using Blur filters in the next lesson.
